I incorrectly attributed this to "West Wind, Flood Tide". (Sorry about the wild goose chase) The statement is that of Dr. William F. Hutchinson M.D., Ships Surgeon, USS Lackawanna as reported in a speech on the Battle of Mobile Bay given to the Rhode Island Soldiers and Sailors Historical Society on 4 October 1876.
