Ron:

I really appreciate the info! Thanks for taking the time to look into this for me.

After posting the query, I went into hyper-research mode (with the aid of several of my favorite "California common beers"!) and lucked onto Creuzbaur's battery.

Seems that Capt. Cotton's Company of the 4th Arizona Brigade was assigned to duty with Creuzbaur's battery in early 1864.

A study of the "unit information" for the 4th AZ Brigade indicates that most of its members were "refugees from Arizona and California."

So, maybe, with your kind assistance and information, my friends who are moving to Arizona will be able to use Capt. Cotton's Company as the closest thing we're likely to find for an Arizona Territory artillery unit!

Again, many thanks for the time and effort expended on my and my friends' behalf!

Happy Holidays! -- Jim Huffman, Adj., Gainesville Vols, SCV Camp 373, Pearl River County, MS
