On May 5, 1862 the Brandon Arsenal delivered "10 Hughes Cannon, 10 Limbers for Hughes Cannon, 10 Hughes Cannon Carriages, 240 rounds of canister fixed for Hughes B.L. Guns, 100 friction primers and 10 extra wheels" to Lt. S.P. Lester (Ward's Artillery attached to General Villapigue's command.)
On June 19, 1862 they delivered 300 rounds of canister fixed for Hughes B.L. Guns to Lt. J.A.Tarleton.
On June 25, 1862 they delivered to Richard Lambert Military Stores Keeper, CSA, 440 rounds of Canister fixed for Hughes B.L. Guns.

These guns are different than the Hughes that were received by Gen. Jeff Thompson as they a smooth bored and friction primer fired.the early were fired by regular percussion cap and rifled.
