Chicago Board of Trade Battery - Stone's River

While researching for a book that I am writing of the battle of Stone's River, I came across an interesting statement in "Historical Sketch of The Chicago Board of Trade Battery." It read:

"Januray 2d, six volunteers from the command took from between the lines under fire an abandoned six-pounder gun to replace the one disabled. In recognition Gen Rosecrans declared the organization a seven-guinh battery, and it so remained until after the battle of Chickamauga."

At the time of the battle, the battery was armed with two James rifles and four 6-pounder smoothbores. In the Official Records, Volume 23, Part II, 967-969 is an artillery armament report that shows the batterty with the same armament as during the battle and with a seventh gun shown as "Rifle, bronze - 6-pdr., 3.67."

ANY information on helping to provide answers would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards and GOD's Blessings,
