English gun carriage dimensions for Whitworths?

There are some comments by CSA artillerists about the field Whitworths' English carriages being "cumbrous" and some other comments about the pieces being relatively heavy. The first comment begs the question: what were the dimensions and weights of the English Whitworth carriages? Has anyone found documentation of this carriage? What I've seen in sketches and photos suggests that the trail of the English carriage was about an extra foot or more in length compared to Napoleons. Even if mounted on a carriage of equal weight, I would expect the long tube length of the Whitworth (particular the breech loading variants) to make it somewhat less mobile than other field artillery, and I wonder if the carriage was also longer and heavier (or wider/etc.) than the 3"/2.9" rifles.

I've found the other comment about the tube's heft rather puzzling and suspect it is meant only in comparison to 3"/10 pdr rifles, since the Whitworth gun tube is ~200 lbs heavier than those...but still ~130 lbs less than the Napoleon. Hazlett claims a "50% wt. disadvantage" for the 2.75 inch Whitworth vs. the 3" Ordnance rifle or 2.9" Parrott, but the numbers I have seen suggest that is a major exagerration. (816-820 lb 3" Ordnance rifle, 890-899 for the 2.9" Parrott, 1000 lb 2.75 inch muzzle loader Whitworth or 1092 lb breech loader, yielding a disadvantage of 34% maximum or as little as 11% minimum when comparing tubes.)

Another question would be what sort of carriage did the CSA use to replace the English carriages? How heavy was it and what were its dimensions?

What I suspect is that some of the historical complaints about the Whitworths have not been adequately explained thus far. It isn't that I doubt the validity of the complaints, but instead some aspects of later experts explanations of them.
