I would be curious as well about the drill with Whitworths in breech loading configuration. I've been watching this thread hoping someone would point in the right direction.

I'm sure you already know that these breech loaders could be muzzle loaded as well and this was necessary periodically. Likewise some Whitworth field pieces were designed as purely muzzle loaders.
