Folks, I am trying to track down some information on Captain Charles S. Sheley. He was a captain in the 10th Illinois Infantry (3 months) in 1861, then was appointed colonel of the Second Arkansas Infantry (African Descent) in 1863. I have not been able to track down where he served between those times.

He served with Benjamin Mayberry Prentiss in the 10th Illinois, which makes me suspect that he might have later been on Prentiss's staff.
