Re: Officers for Guibor's battery before Guibor?

Henry Guibor was with Gen. Frost men of the Missouri State Guard at Camp Jackson, May 1861 when surprised and captured by the union forces commanded by Gen Lyons. He was a lieutenant at the time and was released and quickly joined Price's troops. In July 1861, he commanded the Jackson Artillery of the Missouri State Guard as a captain. I doubt that another officer commanded this battery before Guibor was assigned to command this battery since less than two months elapsed between Camp Jackson and the Battle of Cartage in July, 1861.

The Civil War Soldiers ands Sailors System on the web site of the National Park Service lists the following captains for this battery. Montgomery Brown, promoted from lieutenant to captain. Henry Guibor captain, A. W. Harris captain, John Langan captain. Harris replaced Guibor in late 1864 as battery commander, promoted from lt. Montgomery Brown was also promoted from lt which leaves only John Langan as the only possible battery commander you are asking about. He is unknown to me but this gives you some names to research.
