Thank you for your response, but two things here. First, I am talking about early in the war were not issued cannon, and therefore had to serve as infantry not late in the war when the blockade and loss of territory made resupplying cannon nearly impossible. Second, I am talking about artillery companies that from the moment they were mustered in, did not have cannon, not companies that could not be resupplied.
