Question about Parrott Rifles

In researching my GGGGrandfather, I've discovered that as Captain of the First Kansas Battery, he was responsible for six "10-pounder, 3-inch" Parrott Rifles for much of the Civil War.

I know nothing about artillery, but was wondering if somebody on this board would know if there are any Civil War sites where those guns are still fired in demonstrations? Or would there be a description somewhere of what a unit went through to operate a battery of Parrott Rifles? I would like to have a better idea of what things were like for my ancestor during the war.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
