I have information indicating that my g-g-grandfather, who enlisted in the 7th Texas Infantry in 1862(?) was transfered in Oct., 1864 to a unit identified as "McDaniels Co. Lt. Arty." I can find no information, or even acknowledgement of existance, in the online sources I've searched so far. The unit may have been involved in the Battle of Atlanta. His transfer was under "Special Order 246/7"

Anybody got any ideas or information about this unit?
