Thank-you very much for sending me this information. There's a lot of great pictures there. I did receive an answer to why my grandfather was discharged early. He was very sick. In what I read, Levi had shortness of breath, coughed and had a hard time breathing. He suffered from constant back pain. There was mention that it could've been his kidney or liver. But, back then I don't think they could diagnose illness's properly. Up until he died, he was pretty much an invalid and couldn't work on his farm. There is of documentaion that states this. Levi, his wife Sarah and youngest son Eathan didn't have food to eat at times. I have a much greater respect for my grandfather now. I thank everyone on this website for making this so real for my family and myself!!!
