John J Harbison/Harrison/Harvison and his brother-in-law Nathan L Day enlisted 12 Aug 1862 at Lewiston, Fulton Co. Il. I haven't gotten a copy of their service records yet. I plan on going to Springfield Il sometime this year. Is that where I can find the Provost Marshal Records? That is what I'm asking. If I need to go to the NARA branch in Chicago, that is a more difficult trip for me, but I may be able to go in September. I just need to know where is the best place to look as I have limited resources as far as travel is concerned. Thanks for your response.
