Wrong track. There was a gap in the tracks to the North so that Georgia and Florida were not linked, but Florida did have tracks from East to West.

The gun on the flat car was manned by Lt. Drury Rambo and the Milton Light Artillery. They fired a few shots after being ordered up. Checking the O.R. they appear to have unloaded, sent the locomotive to the rear, and fired some shots near the end of the engagement (they did not fire earlier because they could not fire through the pine without injuring their own from falling branches, etc.)

Gamble's battery was present of course and was advanced with the others. The engineer Lt. Grant says the arty fire of both sides was too high judging by marks on the trees. Gamble's report on the subject is in the O.R. He suffered 2 killed, 3 wounded, a broken piece, lost some horses, etc.

I see no reference to what Roman is referring to in the O.R., but I haven't been to the battlefield yet. Perhaps they will have such information there.
